This summer, NHM’s Jubilee Arts program launched a massive project that employed 80 youth and eight artists to creat eight major murals in our community. The project was a powerful response to respond to the unrest of April 27. The project, called Art@Work: Sandtown, created murals to beautify our community and the youth involved who collected input for designs from community members, gave a presentation for public comment, and painted each mural.
Many thanks to our project partners Baltimore Office of Promotion & The Arts and Youthworks Baltimore and generous funding support by The Abell Foundation, Baltimore Department of Housing, Clayton Baker Trust, France-Merrick Foundation, Lockhart Vaughan Foundation, WBAL Kids Campaign and YouthWorks.
